Premature aging as a consequence of Mis-construction of tissues and organs during body development

چکیده
Hutchinson–Gilford Progeria Syndrome, Werner syndrome, and Cockayne syndrome are three genetic disorders, in which the children have premature aging features. To understand the phenomena of premature aging, the similarity of aging features in the syndromes to that in normal aging is investigated. Although these syndromes have different genetic backgrounds, the patients all have abnormal structures in tissues/organs like that in normal aging. Therefore, the abnormality in tissue structure is the common point between premature aging and normal aging, and it links a defective development and a defective repair, the Misrepair. Defective development is a result of mis-construction of tissues/organs, as a consequence of genetic mutation; whereas aging is a result of mis-reconstructions, the Misrepairs, for maintaining the structure of tissues/organs. Construction-reconstruction of the structure of an organism is thus the coupling point between development and aging. Mis-construction and Mis-reconstruction (Misrepair) are the essential processes in the development of aging-like feathers.

Misrepair accumulation theory: a theory for understanding aging, cancer development, longevity, and adaptation
Misrepair-accumulation theory is a novel theory in interpreting aging phenomena. With a new concept of Misrepair, this theory reaches a unified understanding of aging: aging of an organism is a result of accumulation of Misrepairs of its structure. Misrepair-accumulation theory (MA theory) is distinct and it can improve our understanding of life on several aspects. I. MA theory is fundamentally...
متن کاملCord Blood Lipid Profile in Premature, Near-Term and Term Newborn Infants
Introduction: The fetus needs a considerable amount of cholesterol for the development of tissues and organs. Studies have suggested that genetic and environmental factors influence the composition of cord blood lipoproteins. In this study, we aim to assess the effect of gestational age, sex and birth weight on the cord blood lipoproteins. Methods: We collected umbilical cord blood samples fr...
متن کاملAn Update on Ovarian Aging and Ovarian Reserve Tests
Ovaries are the female organs that age more quickly than other tissues such as the uterus, the pituitary gland or pancreas. Different from males, an interesting question is why and how the females lose fertility so rapidly. During the aging process, both the number and quality of the oocytes in the ovaries decrease and reach to a point beyond that no more viable offspring may be produced and th...
متن کاملDesigning an Intelligent, Non-Contact System for Controlling Neonate’s Body Temperature in Incubators
Background and Objective: Regulating body temperature of premature infants and preparing them a desirable physical condition for completing physical and mental development is essential. Using a system that guarantees neonate’s health in incubator at first birth hours is cardinal. Materials and Methods: In this method, a set of non-contact infrared sensors and microcontrollers regulate neo...
متن کاملOperative Dentistry and Biomaterials for Tooth Regenration
Tissue-engineered biomaterials have existed approximately 40 years as simple biomimetic structures. Replacement of human tissue with new tissue can be accomplished by generating replacements outside of the body or in situ in the body. In each case, the key elements are described as the tissue engineering triad of scaffolds, cells, and signals. Scaffolds can be produced synthetically or derived ...
